Entrepreneur circle held at Namibia Business Innovation Centre
 
At NBIC yesteday we held a enterpreneur cycle with different people from Windhoek and one of our quest was Mr Amos Shiyuka, the owner Mobipay. He start of by giving us his background and how he come up with that briliant ideas of starting up a MobiPay. Mr Amos was working at MTC were he worked for 13years. MobiPay, is Namibia’s first mobile payment solution, licensed and authorised by Bank of Namibia in terms of section 5 (4) of the Payment System Management  to provide the following services (All from the use of your cellphone!) transfer/Send money, buy cellphone airtime, buy prepaid electricity, pay for your goods at retailers/shops such Pick'n pay, Shoprite, Woermanbrok and many others. Their service works on all networks (LEO, MTC and SWITCH) and with all mobile phones.Mr shiyuka stated that he is always  rulled by 8 key facts and they are very important to all the entrepreneurer out there. Those key factor are as follow:

  •  Self awareness; knowing youself, know who you are
  • .Positive self; always think positively and avoid negative thoughts, that will keep you going.
  • Group identity; try hag out with the right people to achieve wat you want to achieve in future.
  • Situation; know the situation you are in and get yourself in a right situation, eg.. get educated and you will be able to have plan B if plan A failed.
  • Future focus; where you want to be after 3yrs or after 5. State what you want to achieve after those years.
  • Displine; have displine, is very important in running your business
  • Social confidents; have confidence on your yourself, never give up becouse if you give up you are defeated
  • .Pro social connection; try to know the right people and in the right place, dont associate yourself with wrong people.
 He further stateted that starting your own business is not an easy thing, it involves my challeges especiarly in the first three years you have to be strong and willing to overcome those challeges,don't let other discouraging you keep going and stay focus.

 Lastly, it was very interesting when he demostrate it to us, everything is about doing it on phone. He is planning to take our olderly people into consideration as well to get paid though their phone. He also planned to extend the service around Namibia.Oop!!!!!!!!!!! VERY INTERESTING. Mr Amos, keep up the good well done job.
